What a pleasure to read this informative book. It gives great insight into the mind of the poet through his letters and conversations with people he met when in Edinburgh. The buildings and streets become even more special on learning of their association with Burns.
There is also the added bonus of hearing the history of Edinburgh citizens and the many who admired and helped the poet.
It is a comprehensive account for any who wish to explore the many buildings, streets associated with Burns. Every fact is given a story making the places and people memorable. It is very easy to imagine the poet in the city in this account of his visit..
The book has shown me even more places to visit in Edinburgh and has prepared me with background stories about them.
The authors and illustrator have presented a fascinating book for that fascinating man Robert Burns.

This book is a visually stunning and historically compelling journey through Burns' time in Edinburgh and the people and places he encountered along the way. It is a must-have for lovers of literature and Scotophiles, but also a fun and accessible guide to a different side of a city that is well-known to many tourists.
